Shahrukh Khan Calls Jernade Miah the 'Next Big Star'

Shahrukh Khan is one of Bollywood's biggest stars! King Khan has just finished shooting his upcoming action film Ra.One in London and at a press conference with his co-star Kareena Kapoor, SRK said, "Ra.One is a superhero film. There is a good guy, there is a bad guy, there is a beautiful girl, there is a wonderful singer and a fantastic director." 

When the film wrapped, SRK threw a party and surrounded himself with friends, cast, and crew who helped bring his production together. On the guestlist for last night's event was 2 Point 9's rising star Jernade Miah. At the private affair, Shahrukh shared a conversation with Jernade which led him to ask the singer to perform for his guests. Being the gentleman that he is, Jernade treated everyone to an impromptu performance.

"Meeting SRK was such a privilege," Jernade told SRKfansclub, "I've watched so many of his films growing up. Not many people get to give an intimate performance for such an icon."

After Jernade hit the stage, Shahrukh was sure to go over and thank Jernade. We have been told that SRK was told the young singer "You're gonna be the next big star. I love the song you just performed." Reflecting on  their conversation, Jernades told DH!, "He [Shahrukh Khan] gave me some really good advice.  If I can achieve half of what he has, that would be incredible."

That evening Jernade sang his song "Empty Box" which has yet to be released. The song will be featured on Jernade's upcoming mixtape Double Check which is set for release in the early autumn.

Shahrukh Khan tweeted later that evening saying, "Had a wonderful wrap party for the crew.all in high spirits &danced to my songs...I hope we can celebrate the release of the film same way."

We know that getting a compliment from Shahrukh Khan must have been quite a nice treat for Jernade. With Shahrukh introducing Akon to Bollywood, perhaps Jernade will be featured on the soundtrack of Shahrukh's next film?

Shahana Goswami has come a long way from her days as the angsty Debbie in Abhishek Kapoor’s Rock On!!. While her passion for acting has increased manifold, her appearance has undergone a makeover of sorts. Those extra kilos have been shed, the wavy locks straightened and the face glowing more than ever. But the actor says it’s all part of the plan.

There’s a whole lot of projects at hand and Goswami wants to enjoy every last bit of it. She plays the role of a non-conforming journalist in director Abhinay Deo’s Game, a happy-go-lucky Parsi girl in Danish Aslam’s Break Ke Baad and a video game designer in Shahrukh Khan’s home production Ra.One. The shooting schedules of these films have made her a globetrotter. “I was in Istanbul for the shoot of Game and then went to Mauritius for Break Ke Baad,” says the actor, who is hoping to have a small vacation with her family in the Capital before zooming off to London, where she shoots for the Anubhav Sinha-directed Ra.One

After her return, she will start work on Abhay Deol’s home production Basra. “It is a busy year, but I am happier this way. I also have two releases the year— Mirch and Break Ke Baad,” she says. It’s a welcome change from the previous year, when after a nuanced performance in Rock On!! the actor disappeared from the scene for a while. “I was typecast as the feisty woman. People came to me with roles of older characters. Although I don’t blame them for doing that, I really wanted to explore newer arenas,” she says. Of the few films she signed, many did not take off at the scheduled time. “For a year, I did not shoot. I spent a year in anticipation,” shrugs the 24-year-old.

 

For someone like Goswami, who is an outsider in Bollywood, the struggle is still far from over. “I am still struggling to find that elusive solo heroine project,” she smiles, adding, “While big banner films do matter a lot, small budget films gain a lot of recognition.” For now, Goswami says, she would like to find a balance between offbeat and mainstream cinema. “I want to do both kinds. Doing fluff at all times doesn’t give you that much satisfaction, after all,” she says.

Saif Ali Khan visits Ra.One gang in London

Bollywood is a close knit family and stars bumping into each other isn't uncommon here. Shah Rukh Khan, who is busy shooting for his next film Ra.One with Kareena Kapoor in London, recently had surprise guest when Saif visited them.

While Karan has been visiting the sets and assisting the team of Ra.One for the last few days, this was the first time that Chhote Nawab made his presence felt. Being known for their hospitality, SRK and KJo as seen in the picture were more than happy to meet Saif who is all set with his next venture Agent Vinod. In fact, this is the very look that Saif would be seen sporting in the espionage thriller. While Saif looked suave and sophisticated in a black blazer, Kareena as usual sizzled in her one shouldered black dress. 

Stunt mania in Ra.One

Here's a first look at an unbelievable stunt from Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One. The  scene required flying cars to smash each other mid-air.
 


Instead of doing it through SFX and using computer graphics, the stunt guys mounted real cars on cranes and made them fly. 

Apart from this, during the London schedule, the team shot an intense scene of a high speed car jumping through a red bus on the street. Looks like RA.One will be the next big action adventure.
